The Quiet Beauty of Everyday Life
My work is a joyful collision of calm minimalism and chaotic experimentation — somewhere between Zen meditation and “what if I used an angle grinder on this?” I mostly work with reclaimed wood because it’s full of character and surprises, and I enjoy the challenge of turning something discarded into something meaningful, in the form of furniture, sculptures, bowls, or things that are still figuring out what they want to be.
I’m Lorenzo — a woodworker, photographer, and lover of abstract lines, based in the UK. I got my start at the Edinburgh Forge, a real community workshop, not an art school. It’s where I began what I like to call my ongoing degree in Spontaneous Creation and Questionable Decisions — a hands-on curriculum involving reclaimed wood, sharp tools, and a lot of sanding.

One of my pieces somehow made its way into the Royal Scottish Academy’s Open Exhibition — a lovely shock, as I had only meant to “see what would happen.”
I don’t have formal art training, but I’ve spent countless hours sanding, carving, sketching, and generally losing myself in the process.
Sometimes what I make is functional, sometimes it’s just beautiful, and sometimes it’s a bit weird — and I’m perfectly fine with all of that.
