An Experience
After finishing a photography course, I worked as a press photographer for several years, covering news events in and around Edinburgh. It was an intense but rewarding experience, immersing myself in the dynamic world of news photography and capturing moments that conveyed the pulse of the city and the country.
From Press Photography to the Art of Long Exposure
I then began experimenting with long exposure photography as a way to unwind and reconnect with nature. Being by the sea, I found it incredibly peaceful to capture those extended moments that reveal hidden details—textures and motions the eye can’t usually catch. It became a meditative practice, allowing me to slow down and see familiar landscapes in an entirely new way.
A portrait, a story
One aspect of photography I’ve always loved is the chance to connect with people. Portraiture, in particular, allows me to capture the essence of someone in a way that feels both personal and timeless. This connection is what makes each session unique and rewarding, as it lets me create images that resonate with the individual’s personality and story.
